Frequently Asked Questions

  • We’re located near Red Lodge, MT, at the base of the Beartooth Mountains on the east side of Yellowstone. Our workshops typically take place in the mountains or sagebrush steppe within an hour of Red Lodge, but we are willing to travel further for custom classes.

  • Tracking workshops can take many forms, but they’re typically one-day and are solely educational.

CyberTracker certifications are typically two-days in the field (though one-day options are available), and follow the CyberTracker standards to certify wildlife trackers of all levels. These are rigorous field tests, but also incredible learning opportunities for naturalists of all levels.

  • Typically refunds are only given if we can fill the vacated spot. If you’re interested but not ready to commit, feel free to reach out and express interest and we can put you on the interested party list.

If Cambium Ecological has to cancel the workshop, a full refund will be given.

We’re constantly creating new workshops based on community need.

  • Each day and each location will be unique, but for both workshops and certifications, you can typically expect a slow paced walk, with lots of time stopping and discussing what we’ve found. The terrain can sometimes be moderate to difficult however, as we travel off trail to find the most interesting things.
